The Slug & Lettuce, Bath

The Slug and Lettuce are a smart cocktail bar chain. The Slug in Bath is located in the Edgar buildings. The Edgar buildings are set on a raised footpath above the historical road of George Street.

We were contracted to take up the existing old flooring which and become very rotten over the years and was far beyond repair. We carried out the works over a number of nights to ensure the venue could carry on trading with as little inconvenience as possible. The first night we took up all the flooring and plywood and removed them from the site. Then after thoroughly cleaning the premises, they were able to trade on a concrete floor which allowed any residual moisture to dry. The next night we arrived as the bar was closing cleared all the furniture and applied a liquid DPM, Stopping any further moisture from coming back up through the subfloor and causing it to rot again. We then fully bonded the new plywood to the DPM which again allowed the pub to trade on a safe floor covering. The following night we laid a new prefinished oak floor leaving it safe with ramps covering different heights. Again allowing the pub to trade. Once the floor was all fitted we supplied and fitted solid oak scotia to the perimeter which we stained and sealed to match the new flooring. As you can see what a transformation.
